ASUS has opened pre-orders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20, turning its 20th-anniversary handheld from a showcase product into a device with confirmed US pricing and availability.
The standalone X20 is listed at $1,299 in the United States. ASUS also offers a $2,499 ROG 20th Anniversary Bundle that combines the handheld with the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a dbrand Killswitch travel kit and a custom Pelican Protector case.
ASUS says the ROG Xbox Ally X20 will go on sale on October 15, 2026. Pricing and availability can vary by region, so the US figures should not be treated as universal launch prices.
What is available to pre-order
ASUS lists three Edition 20 products:
ROG Xbox Ally X20 standalone — $1,299 in the US
ROG Xbox Ally X20 20th Anniversary Bundle — $2,499 in the US
ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses standalone — $799 in the US
The complete bundle includes the X20, the Edition 20 AR glasses, a matching dbrand Killswitch kit and a fitted Pelican case. The glasses are scheduled to go on sale separately in mid-September, ahead of the handheld's October release.
The confirmed X20 hardware
The official specification page lists a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD and an 80Wh battery.
Its headline change is a 7.4-inch 1920 × 1080 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. ASUS specifies FreeSync Premium Pro, a 30–120Hz variable-refresh range, up to 1,400 nits HDR peak brightness and an anti-reflection coating.
The controls include TMR joysticks, Hall-effect analogue triggers, a transforming four-way/eight-way D-pad, HD haptics and two assignable rear buttons. Storage expansion is handled by a microSD Express reader, while connectivity includes USB4 and a second USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port.
How it differs from the anniversary bundle
The standalone handheld and bundle use the same core X20 hardware. The bundle price pays for the additional AR glasses and protective accessories rather than a faster processor or a larger internal SSD.
The ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 glasses use dual 1080p Micro-OLED displays and advertise a virtual 171-inch screen at four metres. They connect through a single USB-C cable. These display claims describe the glasses' presentation capabilities, not measured game performance.
What remains unverified
ASUS has published specifications and marketing claims, but the pre-order announcement does not include independent battery results, game benchmarks, frametime captures or one-percent lows.
HandheldAtlas is therefore not assigning performance figures or recommending a preset from this announcement. Production-hardware testing will still be needed to evaluate sustained power, thermals, battery life and real game performance.

The important new information is now concrete: US pre-orders are open, the standalone ROG Xbox Ally X20 costs $1,299, the collector bundle costs $2,499 and the handheld is scheduled to go on sale October 15, 2026.
