Xbox opened a cloud-playtime preview on October 21, 2026 for eligible Xbox Insiders without an active Game Pass subscription. This is a catch-up report ahead of the announced November expansion, not a new October 27 launch.
The introductory prices quoted by Xbox Wire are $3.99 for 10 hours, $7.99 for 25 hours and $11.99 for 50 hours. Purchased time remains available until used. Xbox describes the packs as ad-free; eligibility and purchasing options depend on market, device, account and preview ring. These are the announced dollar prices, not confirmed local prices for every country.
Buying time does not include every game: players need an eligible cloud-playable purchase or access to a supported free-to-play title.
For occasional streaming on a supported handheld setup, paying for hours could provide an alternative to a recurring subscription. Before buying, check the exact account, game and device eligibility. Treat this as a streaming option, not evidence of native handheld performance.
In its September 3 announcement, Xbox said monthly cloud allowances would begin in November: 15 hours for Ultimate, 10 for Premium and 5 for Essential, with additional time available to purchase. That announcement and the October Insider preview describe different stages of the rollout. Do not assume preview pricing or access applies universally.
