Witcher 3 Remastered Graphics Glitches on ROG Xbox Ally X: Driver Rollback Guide

A HandheldAtlas user reports resolving these rendering problems on ROG Xbox Ally X (RC73XA) by returning to ASUS AMD graphics driver V32.0.23027.5004, released on April 29, 2026.
This is a reported workaround. The exact problematic newer driver version has not yet been recorded.
Before you start
Download V32.0.23027.5004 from the official ASUS RC73XA support page under Graphics.

Make sure your device is ROG Xbox Ally X — RC73XA. Do not install this package on another Ally model without checking compatibility.
Save your work, close the game, connect the charger, and note your currently installed driver version.
Option 1: Roll back the driver
1Right-click Start and open Device Manager.

Expand Display adapters.
3Right-click your AMD graphics adapter and select Properties.
4Open the Driver tab and select Roll Back Driver.
5Follow the prompts and restart.
6Check the installed Driver Version.
The target version is 32.0.23027.5004. Windows restores the previously retained driver, so rollback does not necessarily select this exact version.
If the button is unavailable or the required version is not restored, use Option 2.
Option 2: Uninstall through Device Manager, then install the older driver
1Have the downloaded ASUS installer ready.
2Temporarily disconnect Wi-Fi and any wired internet connection to reduce automatic driver reinstallation during the process.
3Open Device Manager → Display adapters.
4Right-click your AMD graphics adapter and select Uninstall device.
5If offered, select Attempt to remove the driver for this device, then confirm.
6Once removal finishes, run the downloaded V32.0.23027.5004 ASUS installer.
7Complete installation and restart the handheld. Follow any additional restart prompts from Windows or the installer.
The display may temporarily flicker or use a lower resolution while the graphics driver is being replaced.
Important: Keep the working graphics driver
Do not reinstall the newer graphics driver associated with these glitches while relying on this workaround.
Review graphics-driver updates offered through MyASUS, Armoury Crate SE and Windows Update, rather than accepting them blindly. Recheck the installed version if the visual corruption returns.
This applies to the graphics driver—not a recommendation to permanently disable Windows security updates. A future graphics release may fix the issue; verify that before replacing the working version.
Check the result
Load the same save and inspect the trees, grass and water where the corruption appeared. Check whether the black fragments have disappeared.
The reported outcome is corrected rendering after installing the older driver and restarting. No FPS increase is claimed. If the artifacts remain, this workaround has not resolved the problem on your configuration.
